Obituary for David Allen George

David Allen George, longtime Sand Springs resident, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma with family by his side on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the age of 61. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Dillon Marler Dighton Funeral Home of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Olivet Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery, Sand Springs. Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 09, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family receiving friends and family on Thursday, November 09, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Dillon Marler Dighton Funeral Home.

David was born on September 22, 1956 to Roy Lester George and Wanda Celestine Simmons George in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the youngest of five children. He was a retired machinist of 38 years. David married the love of his life, Crystal Belle Fryhover George on January 27, 1978 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They moved to Sand Springs shortly thereafter where they created a home and had two children, David and Becky. He was a member of the Olivet Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

As a husband David was a provider, partner and a best friend. As a father David was always willing to spend time with his kids even when he didn’t feel well, he was their #1 supporter and never missed anything they were involved in. As a grandfather, David taught them how to fold paper airplanes, loved playing in the pool and was always down for a nerf gun fight. As a worker, David was dependable, hardworking and always tried to make people smile. As a friend, David was always there and willing to lend a helping hand. As a church member, David had a servant’s heart and loved being around all his church family. David enjoyed spending time with all his family any chance he could get. David was loyal to his sports teams the, Oakland Raiders and the Oklahoma Sooners. He also enjoyed going to concerts and some of his favorites were George Jones, Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley, Dolly Pardon, and Merle Haggard.

David is survived by his wife, Crystal George of the home; daughter, Rebecca George of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son David George II and wife Roxanne of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; two sisters, Donna Cook and husband Larry of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Vanessa Torres and husband Victor of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Rick George and wife Kathy of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Roy Wayne George of Westminster, California; three grandchildren, Zandi, Zackary and Zoe George.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles.
